Makita XPH01Z 18V Cordless Hammer Drill-Driver is a very small, light weight and compact tool. But yet very powerful for it’s size and they get an outstanding run-time. These tools are quite well balanced and very enjoyable to use. They’ll also fit into some pretty tight spaces. Makita XPH01Z Lithium-Ion can be operated as a driver-drill or a hammer driver-drill, permitting the utilized to carry just one tool on the work instead of two.

Battery
The “Z” in a Makita model name means that this is a bare tool. It doesn’t come with accessories or a battery or charger. The XPH01Z is part of the 18-volt LXT lineup, so it’s compatible with all the LXT batteries that have the Star Protection Computer Controls.

Design
Comes with lightweight and compact design,the drill by itself weighs only 4 pounds With the battery mounted. The handle has a rubberized soft grip for increasing both comfort and control so the drill’s weight is evenly balanced unlike a corded pistol-grip drill.

Makita XPH01Z 18-Volt LXT Cordless Hammer Drill/Driver is built with a 4-pole motor for helping deliver up to 480 in.lbs of maximum torque. The cordless hammer drill-driver has a variable 2-speed design and has the ability for all types of job site drilling, driving, and hammering applications. It works smoothly to drill wood, plastic, and metal. It can handle up to ½-inch bits in metal and 1-1/2-inchbits in wood. It’s compatible with a wide range of accessories like sanding pads and hole saws.The two-speed transmission ranges up to 400rpm in low gear, while high gear spins up to 1500rpm. Just press the variable-speed trigger to control how fast you go once you select high or low. You can also control how much power you use by choosing one of the 16 clutch settings.

Conclusion:
Makita XPH01Z is a Good-everyday-drill, that should attract any DIY-ers. The RPM also really great to see at the low price range hammer drills. You can set the two-speed ranges to help you to drive the drill as very easy. It works well as a wood/metal drill, driver, and concrete drill. Capable of handling bits up to at least 5/8 and drilling into dense concrete, But a battery and charger included would have been nice.
